Batuu - Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Planet

Star Tours Now Takes Guests to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Planet

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue now has new adventures at both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As guests board the Starspeeders, with R2-D2 and C-3P0, and race through the galaxy they will find themselves visiting a planet in the outer rim of the Star Wars galaxy. This planet is now known as Batuu.

Imagineer Scott Trowbridge released this description of Batuu on the Disney Parks Blog:

This remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but its prominence was bypassed by the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer to stay out of the mainstream, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe haven for those intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order. While Batuu may be new to us, it is clearly already familiar to many characters from the Star Wars saga as a stepping off point for epic adventures.

There is also a promise of more updates about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge moving forward. What do you think of this name for this distant planet? Do you like how Star Tours – The Adventures Continue now connects with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
