Sunday Spotlight: Spaceship Earth at Epcot

Today Epcot is celebrating its 35th anniversary. While there is a lot of different things to love about Epcot, one of these is more iconic than the rest. Spaceship Earth  is the geodesic sphere that is the centerpiece of Epcot. It can be seen from just about any place at the park. This sphere is the home of Spaceship Earth. Now narrated by Dame Judi Dench, it chronicles the history of human communication.

Originally, this attraction was narrated by Lawrence Dobkin. This was followed by Walter Cronkite. Jeremy Irons was the third narrator before that role was taken over by Dame Judi Dench. Through the past 35 years the attraction has undergone changes but the same over-arching story has remained. It is about human-kind’s development along with the development of communication.

Watch this iconic attraction below. What is your favorite part of the story that is told? Let us know in the comments section below.

Happy Anniversary Epcot!
