The Main Street Electrical Parade is returning to Disneyland. After it ends its run at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on October 9th, this Disney classic will return to the Disneyland Resort for what what is being billed as a “limited-time encore engagement.”
The Main Street Electrical Parade first debuted in 1972. It has had long runs at both the Disneyland Resort and also the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. The parade is known for its magical lights, tune (Baroque Hoedown), and characters that has brighten the nights with Disney magic. It has lived on at Disney Parks around the world in different ways as it has continued at the Magic Kingdom in a format very similar to the original, and then new incarnations at other Disney Parks. The most recent incarnation is Disneyland’s Paint the Night Parade that debuted at the Happiest Place on Earth for it’s 60th Diamond Anniversary in 2015.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, there are currently no plans to bring Paint the Night to Walt Disney World. It will conclude its current run on September 5th and return for select nights during the holiday season later this year.
