Fans of the hit Disney animated feature will now be able to experience Frozen in a completely new way. On May 27th, Frozen – Live at the Hyperion opens to the public. It premiered at a special event on May 26th for this musical theatrical retelling of Anna and Elsa’s adventure. Directed by Tony Award® nominated Director Liesl Tommy, this show features 103 original cast members. They were selected from 2,500 vocalists/actors and 1,000 dancers from around the country who auditioned to be in this show.

The show includes six full musical numbers, a 2,2000 square foot video wall, elaborate costumes, live vocals, and some incredible scenic effects to tell the story of Frozen in the Hyperion Theater.

“While our production of ‘Frozen’ stays true to the heart and soul of the film, we have adapted it for the stage so it’s truly a musical theater production that befits our beautiful Hyperion Theater,” said Dana Harrel, creative entertainment executive with Walt Disney Imagineering.  “The goal of this creative team is to take all audiences – including those who know the film, and those new to these characters – on this exciting and touching adventure with Anna and Elsa.

“We know that for many in the audience — adults and children alike – this production will be a first or rare theater-going experience, and we want to make it as magical as possible.”

Frozen – Live at the Hyperion isn’t the only theatrical representation of this story. A separate full two-act version of this story is being worked on to be a Broadway musical.
