The Russo Brothers are set to to take the helm from Joss Whedon for Avengers: Infinity War movies.
The directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier will now be really making their mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joe and Anthony Russo’s next project in the MCU is to direct Captain America: Civil War. This much has been known. Now, it looks like the Russo Brothers will be also direction Avengers: Infinity WarParts 1 and 2.
Multiple outlets, including the Hollywood Reporter, are reporting that the brothers will be shooting Infinity War in one long shoot that will lead to the story being told throughout the course of two movies. Captain America: Civil War should begin shooting next month and it is expected that Infinity War will shoot sometime next year. At this point, there are no writers attached to this project but the Russo Brothers have collaborated with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely on Captain America: Civil War and there is speculation that this collaboration could continue.
Captain America: Civil War will be hitting theaters on May 6, 2016. Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 is expected to arrive in theaters on May 4, 2018 and Part 2 following on May 3, 2019.
