On opening day, Diane Disney Miller welcomed guests to the museum, located in San Francisco, California. Since then, the open daily museum brings forth many visitors.

During the first anniversary of the museum, Diane shared some word. Here is what she had to say, “Our vision for the museum grew as we realized that whatever we did in my dad’s name would have to be done in his manner: as well as we could possibly do it. . . . The most rewarding thing of all is the way it has been accepted by those who have visited. My goals were that our visitors would leave knowing my dad, inspired by his story, and that the whole experience would be a very pleasant one for them. . . . We are especially grateful for the support of our members, who have been enthusiastic about the museum and supportive of our programs. I want to thank them, and our wonderful staff, who do so much to make the museum experience a memorable one.”

Throughout the years, there have been a variety of exhibits held at the museum. Exhibits such as Between Frames:The Magic Behind Stop Motion Animation, MAGIC, COLOR, FLAIR: the world of Mary Blair and the most recent Leading Ladies and Femmes Fatales: The Art of Marc Davis.

In addition to exhibits, the museum also has movie screenings, spotlight talks and workshops. In honor of the 5th Anniversary celebration, all month long special events will be taking part. Special book signings and talks are planned for a month long celebration. If you would like to view the calendar list for this month of celebration, please click here.
