Disney Parks Blog announced this morning that a new update to the Downtown Disney District will soon increase dining and retail options at the Walt Disney World Resort. With the largest expansion in Downtown Disney’s history, a new multilevel parking structure with 4,000 spaces, two pedestrian bridges and the widening of lanes on Lake Buena Vista Drive will continue to make progress through 2016.
With ongoing construction, guests can still access some of their favorite retail and dining venues. This transformation into Disney Springs will make your stay more enjoyable and easier. In addition, a new interchange from the I-4 will lead to direct access to Disney Springs.
Phase one, The Landing, will open in 2015 which will provide lakefront shopping and dining.
If you plan to attend an event at the Downtown Disney District, please be advised that its best to arrive early due to possible detours.
What is your take on these new improvements?
