Hocus Pocus Remake Being Developed for Disney Channel

The Disney Channel is in the early phases of developing a remake of Hocus Pocus.

While not a lot is known about this Disney Channel Original Movie, a few details have still come out. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will not be returning as the leads in this movie. It will have a completely new cast and a new director. The new story is being written by Scarlett Lacey. David Kirschner, who produced the original, is set to executive produce.

The original Hocus Pocus was released in theaters in 1993 and was originally envisioned as a made-for-tv movie. However when the movie seemed to be big enough and have enough star power, it was given a theatrical release instead. It went on to make $39 million in its theatrical release. It has since become incredibly popular on the Disney Channel.

What do you think of a new version of Hocus Pocus being made created? Are you excited for it? Who do you think should star in it? Let us know in the comments!
