Today, March 12, 2022, William Hurt passed away at the age of 71. His son put out a statement that he died peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Hurt passes away exactly one week before what would have been his 72nd birthday.
William Hurt brought numerous incredible characters to life, but Disney fans may know him best for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hurt portrayed Secretary Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross with his first appearance in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. His most recent Marvel role was in 2021’s Black Widow.
Throughout his career, Hurt only brought home one Oscar for Kiss of the Spider Woman, but he was also nominated for Children of a Lesser God and Broadcast News.
Hurt will be remembered for the incredible roles he brought to life. We want to extend condolences to his family and loved ones.
