Jul 12, 2023
On this day in 1956, Walt Disney purchased a petrified tree stump as a gift for his wife, Lillian. It now stands proudly on the shore of Rivers of America in Disneyland’s Frontierland. It was found at the Pike Forest Fossil Beds in Colorado. The tree is estimated to be between 55-70 million years old and used to stand 200 feet tall!
