On this day in 1914, animator and Disney Legend Mel Shaw was born. Shaw was personally recruited by Walt Disney in 1937 to work on ‘Bambi.’ He left Disney in 1941 to join the Army Signal Corps during World War II, where he served as a combat photographer. Shaw returned to Disney in 1974, where he advised on the story and style of many modern classics, including ‘The Great Mouse Detective,’ ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ and ‘The Lion King.’ [110 years ago in 2024] Don't miss Daps Magic's official weekly YouTube show Geeks Corner here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAF91C7183BAB676B Visit Daps Magic: https://dapsmagic.com Join Our Patreon Community: https://patreon.com/dapsmagic Daps Magic was created by a very special group of Disney Fans who had a dream for a place on the internet where people young and old could share their love of Walt Disney and his legacies in a safe and fun atmosphere.
