week and one of the things that came up this week is a new section of DAP's magic, which doesn't happen very often

at all. And it came from a couple conversations I've had through the week. And uh one of them came from a

observation that nobody is really um highlighting I guess you could say the

Disney adjacent organizations that promote protect and

preserve the Disney legacy. So whether it's the Walt Disney Family Museum, Disney birthplace in Chicago or

that scared me or scared me too, man. uh or uh Marceline Hometown Museum,

things like that. Uh the Carolwood barn up in in Griffith Park, things like that. Uh and then also like Ryman Arts

and Chalk, because these are all things that one way or another are connected to

the Disney legacy, but they're not the Walt Disney Company and and they all do good things. That

like I wouldn't compare it to Paint the Night cuz it's a completely different vibe. It's much more of a classic parade

Like they're completely different types of parades. Yeah. But they're both the thing that

are both um successors to Main Street Electrical Parade.

throughine cuz the thing I noticed is I loved the opening like cuz it does directly connect to Main Street

Electrical Parade which is kind of what they're doing with all these these night pink does too though. Yeah, that's why I'm saying they're

doing it for lies. Uh, and then it goes into the new theme and it's this gorgeous orchestral score

at the beginning. And then I felt like the one thing I would have switched with the music in particular is I would have

kept that a little bit more prominent as it intertwined with the specific

themes for each float just because I felt like the the main theme kind of got lost in the music got a little bit

like it didn't seem as as powerful as it could have been during the parade and and that's just me nitpicking it a little

bit. Um I thought the floats are gorgeous. Like I think Disney's once again showing how it knows how to make

nighttime floats. Um yeah, I thought the the characters on the floats are very easy to see, which is a

huge win. And they don't have antenna. Yeah. No, they did a really nice job lighting them in the dark. Um I would

like to have seen maybe more on the ground in between the floats. A little bit more action happening there.

Um I also personally almost wanted more length.

It's short like it's it's about 12 to 14 minutes long and um which might be

perfect too because you know you're doing a parade fireworks and a parade all in the space of true

and I actually agree I think Spectro Magic was a more magical parade. um it leaned into the classic that much more.

And this this one seemed like it was kind of a um we're leaning into the classic, but

we also still want to dab our our feet in the in the waters of um a paint the

night type thing. But it looks like it's going to be great for to watch. And I'm excited to see it. And I do like the idea that that it's,

you know, if it's 12 or 14 minutes, then you're not killing yourself off to see fireworks.

Parks having a nighttime parade. Like I think that almost needs to be a rule. I think and the bigger part of that rule

is that if you have a nighttime parade, you should have a daytime parade. I I completely agree with that and I see

especially when you think of families with young kids. Some of them just aren't going to make

you're local that can be a challenge. I can remember the first time we went to Disneyland when I was a kid. My brother

entirely missed the Main Street Electrical Parade except for the part where we woke up, saw um Elliot from

Pete's Dragon, and then fell back asleep. And I think he might have been like I vaguely remember him being scared

of the dragon. Um but and see my version of that is there was a nighttime parade that was

running when I was like twoish, threeish. It was not EP cuz EP closed when I was a month old. Um,

but I made myself fall asleep because I was scared of characters.

I would love to see a nighttime parade at Disneyland Paris now that that came up. Yeah, because I think that would be awesome. I

we also got concept art today for a new section of um Disney's

looks like. The whole area, this is taking over Launch Bay and and it's kind of a hodgepodge area right now. like

when you go back there, it's a catch-all. Yeah, it it doesn't have a lot of purpose or direction. And I feel like

this really does bring in direction and uh it brings in the animation or the sorcerer Mickey hat. I was thinking the

animation building hat also same thing. Um and there's going to be experiences that are very um it kind of reminds me

of what we do with our animation building like very much so. Like I'm like, "Oh, so you you're kind of taking our

Hollywood Boulevard and putting it over there a little bit." Um, what do you think of this concept, this idea?

The sorcerer hat doesn't die, it just reinvents itself. I love that. Um, I I have seen a lot of people very

nostalgic for when the sorcerer hat existed at at Hollywood Studios. And

while it was magical, yes, it also took up the entire entry view of Hollywood

Studios. So that was all you saw. So I think this is a great way to have it. I think that the thing that Hollywood

Studios does really well is like the Pixar area feels like Pixar and Emeryville. This to me feels like

Studios. Um especially because there's this detail. If you want to go back to the

previous concept art that you just had up right there at the front. Yep. That that like

that looks like the drive-in entrance. The garden area is essentially the security gates for when you get to the

studios at Burink. Well, and honestly, that's a much better way to draw you back into because instead of seeing the big U marquee sign

that's there currently that really you don't see past it super well, this instead beckons you in. you're

like, "Oh, look, Sorcerer Mickey hat. Let's go see what's there." Um, I think it's a good

it's a good way to uh draw people in. And and it also continues the legacy,

which seems to be something they're really leaning into right now, too, is they're continuing the legacy of

moving towards the future while not forgetting the past. Yeah. And and so we're getting a lot of new

things in the parks here and over in Florida. And while we're getting, you

know, an ex uh expansion of Avengers Campus or we're getting

um you know, a Coco attraction, things like that, we're also recognizing that

Disneyland is is really the foundation of that is Walt Disney. And so they've created a foundational experience. You

can come in and see Walt Disney and, you know, hear him speak in his own words some thoughts. And um and I think it's

nice that they're they're holding on to that foundation while really, you know, what is the word they use? Turbocharging

uh into the future. Yes, I think it's something like that. Yes, they're turbocharging the the segment.

Yes. But uh but I think this is a great way to really connect to that past and and

really like learn how to draw, go see car like it makes sense to have Disney characters there like

Um, and yes, I've had great memories at Launch Bay in Hollywood Studios. I have some really fun pictures of some

And and as we get further and further away from being time locked and landlocked with Galaxy's Edge, there's

less and less of a reason to have I also think that like there's going to be a is there a Disney Junior area that

area which was kind of like the It's modifying it. Yeah. like the two to six or two to

seven age demo that's not going away which is also exciting. Launch Bay is no

or the press release, I don't remember which one, but they said the focus really is for families and young families. Like they're they're really

recognizing Hollywood Studios can always use more for the young ones.

Always. Um, like Toy Story Land is great, but they're not necessarily going to go

yet on Slinky, Tower of Terror, or Rock and Roller Coaster featuring the

Muppets. Yes. Like there's they need to balance or even the new Monsters Inc. coaster. Like, they need to balance off or

balance out these these adult thrill attractions, family thrill attractions, whatever you want to call them, with

things that the younger parts of the family can can enjoy as well. And altogether, hopefully. I also think um both times

that Launch Bay has existed, it has been kind of sad to the people that knew what

it once was. So like at um Hollywood Studios that was previously part of the animation tour.

that the show was over. So, I went through like the grief process. I was like, "So did the cast."

logically right that's where I am. And then I watched that like promo that

Apple put out. It's pretty cute. And they're not even doing anything. They're just all sitting at it all. By

um I watched it. I was like, "Yeah, I'm all in. Let's do it."

Um because Ted Lasso like is one of the most one of my favorite shows for sure.

Um well I don't think they would do it if they didn't have a good idea of where this season was going to go or maybe

even more. like we for all we know there's another three season story arc that they have in mind because Jason Sedakus was very clear

that it wasn't happening unless there's a reason to and and so I like my big question mark that we'll probably have

answered fairly quickly is what is that uh in who has the internal conflict that's

being overcome like what is that that main thing that that's going to be um the catalyst for this and because there

was clearly a a plotline Mhm. in the first three seasons that that you could follow along. So, I'm curious to

see what that is. Or is it a development of what we already know? Like I just hope it it has that um sucker punch to

the heart like the first three seasons. The biggest thing that is important to me about Ted Lasso is it is showing that

um even people that you think are irredeemable um can be saved if they just believe.

Um and that sounds so cheesy. Sounds like that Christmas show.

But um literally if you followed along I'm not going to spoil anything, but if you followed along Ted Lasso, if you

never watched Ted Lasso, I recommend you start it. If you have watched it, you know about the character arc from season

two to three. Um when you go back and watch it, you're like, "Oh, there was seeds in season one, too."

That was like everybody was like, "No, there's no way it can be done." And by

the end of it, you're like, "Oh, this is just a person that got really caught up and they made bad decisions."

this is the most obvious setup in history. Also though, like we are watching everybody downfall to AI around
