Albert Hurter | DISNEY THIS DAY | May 11, 1883
May 11, 2026
On this day in 1883, Disney’s first inspirational sketch artist, Albert Hurter, was born. He came to Walt Disney Productions in 1931 as an established animator from Europe. Hurter’s drawings were uncommonly imaginative and conveyed authentic movement. Other animators used his ideas as the basis for many projects. Hurter’s realistic style was the basis for the look and feel of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,’ ‘Pinocchio,’ ‘Fantasia,’ and many other films, even after his passing in 1942.
