On this day in 1995, ‘While You Were Sleeping’ was released by Disney’s Hollywood Pictures. Sandra Bullock stars as Lucy, a lonely transit worker in Chicago who saves her crush Peter from an oncoming train. While Peter is in a coma, a mistake leads his family to believe Lucy is his fiancee. Lucy struggles to correct the misunderstanding, but gets in more trouble as she falls for Peter’s brother Jack, played by Bill Pullman. The film was a success with both critics and audiences.
