completely honest it has been a crazy 24 hours with multiple events we're going to talk about a lot of them but it's

also been a crazy week we've had Lunar New Year we've had the opening of a bunch of stores in downtown Disney

Disneyland after dark sweethearts night um a bunch of announcements it's just

been busy it's it's been crazy and that's always a good thing because that means there's a lot more to talk about

speaking of talking about things what should people do Katie should go into the chat box or whatever it is that we

call it and you should tell us what has been the most exciting thing for you this week there is a lot uh whether it

be Lunar New Year whether it be wonderful world of sweets whether it be uh Disneyland after dark sweethearts

night presented by Dove we'll get to that important thing we will get to that uh but what is it

that you're most excited about because there's a lot cuz I don't even know what I'm the most excited about oh you got time you got time all right well this

morning I was at the Disneyland Resort Brighton early at 720 75 early something like that I do

know that security had just opened when I got there uh for going into the downtown Disney district and um that was

so that we could get several members of the media uh a preview of Disney

wonderful world of Suites ahead of its opening which they announced would be today at 3:00 p.m. so they let us break

that story and um it's always fun when you get to do one of these kind of behind the scenes um we love an

exclusive things it wasn't exclusive like there's other people there but um but it was very fun to visit and get to

take a first look at the um uh the new store in Downtown Disney Disney World

wonderful world of sweets which to me is a bright colorful happy joyful store

like even if it wasn't selling candy it's just a place that's happy to be and like the music's happy the light is

bright um there's lots of colors there's some really great uh uh decorations that

kind of like are candy like Recreations of say like small world or Cinderella

castle and some other stuff there's even a a candy mountain with a train uh two of them I don't know if it's the same

one from different angles or two they're in the windows on the outside the pictures you posted I were just happy

yeah and and then the music accompanies that and of course when it's a new store everybody's excited to be working there

and happy and the new costumes Are all uh bright and vibrant as well and uh and

the caramel popcorn the worther caramel popcorn is delicious um and it's the

same recipe that they use at Epcot which I it's like we're basically an Epcot I think people care about that I think so

too I've never had wethers popcorn and ncot I have and I will admit it's on the

sweet end of things for me like just because I'll I'll have a bite and I'll be like all right that was good

and um and then move on like yeah I'm like okay I like I just don't need that

much sweets like I'm I'm very happy with just a bite or two um but it was very

good I enjoyed it uh the event was very fun um there's a

different I want to say themes for the wonderful world of sweets okay so like one area is kind of like villains themed

it seems and one like um I'd have to actually pay closer attention maybe it's a type of candy theme too and and so you

go around the room and you're like oh here's all this and here's all that they all come in these really fun bags and you know there's there's a lot of um

attention to detail and the experience put into this new store and um and then

um they also have two kitchens that are you can watch from

either inside or out so on one side they're making candy apples and the other side they're making the the

caramel popcorn and uh so it's it's just there's a lot going on oh and the

decorations on the walls so like the for sure small world things are

moving so like there's kinetic energy happening inside the room eny mhm and

like there's spinning things and they're up on the upper levels of the wall so it's kind of fun to go around and look at those and on the outside in the Candy

Mountain the train is moving a little bit too so there's some movement happening there also very cool they've also gone into

the story element of the store and so they have a uh a popcorn bucket named Poppy p o p p i I'm curious why it's i

instead of Y other than maybe they didn't want it to be confused with the flower probably I don't know anyway it's

very cute it's a little popcorn guy girl thing it almost reminded me of the star

from wish a little bit like yeah it has that just happy whatever feel to it and

um you can get the popcorn bucket you can also find um the character in the store like in

the decorating decorations of the store and there's other characters in the store as well like fluffy like fluffy in

fact there's four other characters and uh they also have a little train cookie that's um like a nod to

marcelin and um yeah there's a lot of fun little connection and there's there's some nods to the past that if

you go around and look you will find them as you go into the store

um but great addition to downtown Disney might be my favorite new addition to

Downtown Disney in the transformation like of everything we've gotten so far

um but uh he's a to somebody a little bit wacky now he's a men you're going to

get locked out buddy know what the ISS is um

there you go that was the issue um the B made for horses this is the uh this is

the I think the best Edition just because it's such a complete transformation and granted there's been

other transformations in Downtown Disney but this one is such a completely

different personality and it's done so well and and I really really enjoyed it

um another thing we got to see was the Disney Storyland Boutique which is not

open yet and they gave us a kind of behind the scenes preview cuz like the scrims are still up in the windows and

stuff but it is opening on Friday morning at 9:00 and uh so they took us behind behind the door I guess and uh we

got to take a look at this couple key takeaways from this okay the store

itself is basically just a canvas because it's going to change

almost he said rough like one of the people we were talking to said roughly every quarter

okay so right now it's all about cute and cuddly and like plush and

like cute things like Kawai was brought up and um and so it's it's got like

Winnie the Pooh section it's got a stitch section it's got a Baymax section it's got a Cinderella section that had

like and all of them have plush things it's got the little mixit that are the brand new things and then it had another

section that was a uh I think it's Japanese Kura um that's from Disney

Store Japan it's the only place you can get it's going to be this section of the store where it will have basically like

a limited time thing and it's the only place you can get this currently in the

United States that's a big deal and there's some other stuff in there that's from Japan too but they specifically

said this one part is only available in the United States and um I don't know

how they're doing that but it's awesome and you could tell like I don't get into

the the merchandise quite as much as some people like I appreciate it but I don't be like oh I need to to get this

went to Tokyo Disneyland and did not come back with a suitcase full of merchandise no it wasn't even a backpack full I know um but I had that

recognition of like oh this is going to people are going to like this yeah and um but then like it's going to be like

this for what is this Jan anuary so March April May is so by summer it'll

probably be a different theme with different merchandise and like most of

the store will be different yeah because the the what's on the walls will change and

they even said like decorations can change so it'll be very fascinating to see how that plays out because it will

um it will evolve with time and uh and it will really be

kind of dependent on what they can what they can put on the shelves and and the

stories that continue with that and the themes to continue with that which is almost like

approaching this store as if it was kind of a restaurant true like like we have

this theme for our our dining whatever and so that will be very interesting to see play out and uh I'm very curious to

see the reaction to it because it is a different approach to a store and um and

it's it's it's very cute in there like there's a lot of cute stuff and I'll be curious like what goes first what sticks

around longer like I think it's going to be a very interesting thing just to see what uh connects with Disney

fans but that's not all we're still on today uh the third

thing I did today was attend the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony for the

Parkside Market and the four destinations inside I guess you could say that uh that opened really a few

weeks ago cuz they had a soft opening but the official opening was today and

with that we got to go to a reception afterwards and taste the foods and I'm

just going to say so we have soul sisters we have uh bless you thank you

um we have Sip and Sunder and there's gig's chicken and then uh Parkside Vista

upstairs which is the bar and I will say let me think this

through I was very pleasantly surprised with soul sisters cuz I really wasn't sure what I was getting into with those

cuz I just didn't know sure and it was fresh it was vibrant it was

um it tasted healthy but not in a bad way oh okay if that makes sense and so

you kind of had like salad elements that were that were uh fresh salad ingredients or

whatever and maybe you had some noodles on it and then they had the sauce and the sauce was really what took it to the

whole new level and um and I really enjoyed that and then they had like dumplings that were pretty good and once

again the sauce took it to the next level like it was like a good dumpling but then the sauce was really like you needed the sauce yeah and and I think

that's just part of the whole experience of it and that had like a little salad bed underneath it too and I think that

all went like you needed the whole you need the whole bite of everything um to

really um get the most out of it I should say um the chicken was good um I

liked the chicken sandwich okay cuz the chicken sandwich had um some sort of a

sauce on it that gave it a nice kick that wasn't too much but it was like oh this is this is good and it wasn't just

a normal like um I don't know like I'm trying to think

who has chicken sandwiches that are but it didn't taste greasy that's what I'm trying to say like and I almost felt

like that could be held against it by some people because I think some people when they have a fried chicken sandwich

they want it to be more Fried Chicken okay and this almost had a like a healthy fry so almost like an air fry

okay approach to it and um and I liked that personally just because I didn't

feel like I ate that entire thing like some of them I didn't eat the whole thing cuz I knew I was pacing myself but

that one I finished because it didn't make me feel like I'd

eaten something super heavy by the end of it like I was just enjoying it um coffee was good as well I had a couple

of things there what did um there was like a dirty chai something that had a

funny name that I don't remember okay and then there was a vanilla something the charcoal the charcoal one and both

of them were were fine I I honestly would much prefer trying um uh like an Americano there at some

point cuz that's really going to tell me but like they were good they just weren't my thing um and and uh then I

also had a dessert that was like I think it was like a pudding with with

chocolate crumble on top and a um uh what are they called jelly worm

yeah like a dirt cup gummy worm yeah it was like a dirt cup but it was like a fancy dirt cup and that was really good fancy dirt cup yeah I liked

it um I liked everything and then I had like a fancy uh um lemonade drink thing

that that's fancy there and I'm forgetting the name of it but it's it's the one that has like the blood orange

on the top of it and the pictures yeah it looked good like and the people I was talking to and wanding around like

people were all seeming to enjoy what was being offered and well that's

everything there seems also very pretty like not only is it yes uh enjoyable and

it's super tasty and super yummy but it also looks pretty yes I would say that's very fair um but I'm very curious to see

like what it ends up being like there just because um the the other star of

this this location is the location um it's very nice to look out over you the

I don't know the lawn and the the stage area on one side and then you've got the

the monal and uh Star Wars Trading Post on the other side like there's just lots

of good places to just kind of enjoy Aral yes that's what it is it's an artisanal dirt Cup in um in a paper cup

um but uh deconstructed dirt that would be funny um I'm like H how would that

work but it it overall had a nice feel it was enjoyable like uh the service was great

I thought everybody was very helpful and I think the real test is for a place

like this is what is it like in a month or two cuz I feel like the beginning you

either have like you're getting your system together and that can go many different ways um like it can be like

this is the best you're ever going to be or it can be we're getting our our systems working smoothly or whatever and

so um today is just a moment in time where it's like this is good what's it going to be like in a month or two

what's it going to be like in six months or a year and uh so that that to me will make or break the whole thing but my

hunch is it'll be fairly popular like it's it's good and

um I think part of the pricing for it is taking into account that

for three I'm going to call it three kitchen restaurants or three restaurants there's

really not that ton of seating oh okay so like you have seating but I think

they really are relying on like Sip and Sund people grabbing it and going on and

um but like downstairs like maybe there's more chairs regularly but like you know it's

it's a couple hundred and it's a couple hundred upstairs maybe and and so I could see that being a a

very quick uh fill thing especially at popular times so it'll be interesting to

see how it goes and um and how it all plays out all right but we're not done

because last night we're just backing up into the week I should have done everything

backwards now that I'm thinking of this but that's fine that's okay last night was the first Disneyland after dark sweethearts night at the Disneyland

Resort went from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. all of these are already sold amm

yes um all of these are sold out already I think there's four of them six of them um six and you can get into the park

with your ticket at six o'clock pm and then you've got the park to yourself at 8 and then the 9:00 is when the party

actually begins they've got photo ops they've got characters they've got a cade they've got a bunch of entertainment and they've got a royal

ball how is that and and a ton of food and merchandise good all they've got all of that it's um it's a lot that's going

on in the Parks and I think it's interesting with this one is don't you feel like a lot of people this year that

normally would go to it we're kind of like oh well you know I've seen it I've been there done that and what would you

say to that I would say that this event was one of the most like VIP feeling events it uh

because I also felt the same way about sweethearts I was like oh you know it's not going to be the most exciting Disneyland after dark we've done this

like every year since it's come out um it'll be fine and last night was so much

fun and there was some really great surprises like Han Solo yeah like that

was really cool I thought that Miss Lil's RW in the Golden Horseshoe Saloon that was a highlight absolutely hit it

out of the park but it with it being sold out I expected it to be much more

chaotic and at no point in the night was I like oh this is just too much in fact I would almost say it went the other way

of there was multiple times throughout the night where I was like where is
23:50
everybody uhuh like Constance hatchway I saw her twice didn't wait in line either

time first time I just kind of took pictures from the side and video from the side second time I was watching a

piano player and there was no line and so I was like well I have my camera I'm

going to go take pictures like when do we get constant hatch hatchway to ourselves to take pictures so I just

went up and did a photo shoot and then like after a minute or two like one couple showed up and so I did a few more

pictures and then left and um that blew my mind Han Han and Leia walked right up

basically no line yeah um space couple basically no line the longest line was

probably Donald and Daisy in my opinion Donald and Daisy were like packed yeah they were really cute to be fair and and

then also like a couple of the photo ops had longer lines too but even then they were moving and they and the really

popular ones they doubled up so it wasn't like you're going to spend your entire night just standing in line which

I did do the first sweethearts night yeah it happens um in fact I would say a

lot of previous or older Disneyland after dark events you were spending a lot of time waiting for um I'm

remembering a lot of people waited for um bless you um uh the Atlantis meet and

greet one year uh that was the same year Hercules and Meg um like yeah that was

sweethearts night was yeah there's been a lot of those but um but this year there really weren't

the lines and my hunch is is that there were so many more food offerings like it felt to me like there was more food

offerings and I think people actually did want to go and enjoy the food and
25:40
and so like we walked by Cafe Orleans at one or I walked by Cafe Orleans a couple times and that would looked like it was

pretty busy and um Cafe Daisy was very crazy Cafe Daisy was packed yeah um but

like it was very fast cuz uh clarabel and horse horse collar didn't have a long line either yeah um you know

everywhere had you know maybe a dozen two dozen like consistently throughout the parks but it wasn't like hundreds of

people waiting for the line um like Aristocats their photo op had a bit of a

line but uh I found this on the web thank you um she found it on the web

good for her but it was very fascinating and weird and I don't know how it

happened that you could basically like we have a list every time we go into do one of these things you look behind the

curtain and we have a list of everything we could possibly want to cover and this

was the first event in however many years we've been doing this that we had everything yeah and it blew my mind and

we left at 12:30 yeah all right favorite favorite thing you saw Miss Lily's review at the golden hores and favorite

character uh favorite character was probably princess there you go okayy

what was yours um I have a hard time not picking uh Mel Collins on the Mark Twain

with her jazz band cuz I just think that's magical and then my favorite character was probably constant okay

like she's terrifying and that's very fun what did she say to you uh let me

would let her do that either way it was terrifying uh also this last week as we continue to back up even further because

decorations there's merchandise uh we were at the media event for this on Friday and it was very fun because we

got look at some of the entertainment the merchandise the food you name it um they're giving out or they gave out I

we of course had to rate the food we tried of course we did so we tried 12

that chocolate firecracker I think it would have been first place I came up with the idea of like oh I'd really like

tropical coconut cooler was I think one of the surprise hits for me because I'm not a huge

tropical person I'm not a huge coconut person and I tend to like hot

drinks and it was none of those um like it didn't fit with any of my things I loved it it was refreshing it was fun it

went with everything well it was uh festive I thought it was a great um drink and it's non-alcoholic and it's

got cute little jellies yeah and the I was grabbing the jellies with my Chopsticks it was fun um it's true yeah

cuz it was easier that way cuz otherwise if you tried just drinking it the ice sometimes got mixed with them and so I'd rather do it that way uh just popping

around like the the faux dip or F dip sorry uh was good uh mine did not have

the jalap jalapenos it was supposed to have and if I think it had the jalapeno that probably would have bumped

it up above at least the garlic noodles so to fifth place um

the uh Fri fried lemongrass chicken probably should have been higher up on

the list but what we got was over fried and and so it just didn't they were very crispy it wasn't the best thing in the

world um it could have been the fire chicken wings I know a ton of people are liking liking them but to me they were

just chicken wings that they dumped in goou Jang uh paste and then put the

Sesame seaweed powder on top or crunch whatever it's called and so it wasn't

bad it just I felt like it was like well I could do this at home in like two seconds the chicken was great though the

chual the chicken was actually for the protein it was probably almost as good as the pork um but U you know it

was just kind of one of those things where I was like huh this didn't hit hit you know it didn't hit a home run for me
