On this day in 1955, camera crews held the first of eight weekly “Dateline Disneyland” rehearsals to prepare for the park's big television debut on July 17. Live coast-to-coast TV broadcasts of this scale – 90 minutes in length and filmed on location – were not common in that era. Part of the setup involved creating five control rooms for the 12 television stations and 24 total cameras, needing 63 operators. It was said to be “the world’s largest live telecast!” [70 years ago in 2025] Don't miss Daps Magic's official weekly YouTube show Geeks Corner here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAF91C7183BAB676B Visit Daps Magic: https://dapsmagic.com Join Our Patreon Community: https://patreon.com/dapsmagic Daps Magic was created by a very special group of Disney Fans who had a dream for a place on the internet where people young and old could share their love of Walt Disney and his legacies in a safe and fun atmosphere.
