It would be the first theme from a Disney animated film to achieve this feat, and the only one to do so until “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” in 2022. Composed by Alan Menken and Tim Rice, the pop duet was sung by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. It would also win a Grammy for Best Pop Performance and be nominated for Record of the Year.
