Return to Fantasyland – Return to Disneyland

The King Arthur Carrousel is an opening day attraction located in the heart of Fantasyland at Disneyland. It is a merry-go-round that has been enchanting park visitors since the park’s opening in 1955.

The carrousel features 68 hand-carved horses, each of which is unique and intricately detailed. The horses are painted in a variety of bright colors, and some are adorned with feathers, jewels, and other decorative elements. The carrousel also includes a chariot that can accommodate guests who may not want to ride a horse. As riders board the carrousel, they are treated to the sounds of traditional carousel music, played on an antique band organ. The carrousel rotates at a leisurely pace, giving riders ample time to take in the intricate details of the horses and the surrounding scenery. One of the unique features of the King Arthur Carrousel is its connection to the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The carrousel’s centerpiece features a regal shield adorned with the crest of King Arthur, and some of the horses are named after characters from Arthurian legend, such as Sir Lancelot and Merlin.

The King Arthur Carrousel is a popular attraction for visitors of all ages, offering a nostalgic and enchanting experience that captures the classic charm of Disneyland.
