Return to Adventureland – Return to Disneyland
Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes is a unique attraction at Disneyland that invites guests to paddle their way around the Rivers of America, the waterway that circles the park. The attraction is based on the legendary American frontiersman Davy Crockett, who was known for his skills as a woodsman and explorer.
Guests board a large canoe, which is propelled by a team of guests who use paddles to move the canoe around the river. The attraction provides a unique perspective on Disneyland, as guests paddle past iconic landmarks such as the Mark Twain Riverboat, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Haunted Mansion.
The canoe itself is designed to look like a traditional Native American canoe, with wood construction and a pointed bow and stern. Each canoe can accommodate up to 20 guests, with two cast members on board to help steer and provide safety instructions.
Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes attraction has been a part of Disneyland since the park’s opening in 1955, and it remains a popular attraction today, particularly for families with children. It is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy the beauty of Disneyland’s natural surroundings, while also experiencing a sense of adventure and exploration reminiscent of the legendary frontiersman Davy Crockett.
