The final trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King was released before the Disney film arrives in theaters on December 20, 2024. The film examines the backstory of how Mufasa became the king of Pride Rock. The trailer was released at D23 Brazil – A Disney Experience and then posted on the internet. It can be seen below. The trailer starts with Rafiki telling the story of two brothers, Mufasa and Taka, and how they went on an adventure as they sought out a new home. Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline.
