Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is returning for “one last spell” this summer on Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney Channel On Demand. This four-part event will go into production next week as it continues the story of the Emmy Award-winning Wizards of Waverly Place. Executive producer Selena Gomez will be making her directorial debut for the premiere episode.
For this four-part event, Selena Gomez will also be reprising her role as Alex Russo. This will happen in multiple episodes. The following description was shared about this four-part event:
Billie, still reeling from losing Alex at the end of Season 2, discovers that the only way to rescue her mother is to reunite with her long-lost father. As her family bands together to find Alex, Billie realizes that their combined power is the only way the Russos can defeat the evil plaguing them.
This revival has been quite popular with both returning fans and new fans. From the time it launched, the series has amassed over 101 million views on Disney Channel YouTube.* It also emerged as a top streaming series across key youth and young adult audiences at the series’ launch, ranking among the top five titles overall with kids 6–11, teens 12–17, and adults 18–24 in views.**
The cast for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place features David Henrie (as Justin Russo), Janice LeAnn Brown (as Billie), Alkaio Thiele (as Roman Russo), Max Matenko (as Milo Russo), Taylor Cora (as Winter), and Mimi Gianopulos (as Giada Russo).
