On this day in 1956, Disneyland held its first “Old Fashioned Easter Parade” down Main Street, U.S.A. The parade was intended to invoke the nostalgia of small-town America at the turn of the century. Director of Entertainment Tommy Walker organized a procession of antique vehicles from the Horseless Carriage Club. No Disney characters or prerecorded soundtracks were used.
