Bluey’s Best Day Ever! has arrived at the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland. This celebration of all that is Bluey brings to life the theater in many new, immersive, and colorful ways. Throughout the day, Bluey, Bingo, performers, and a live band take to the stage to lead those in the audience through song, dance, and play together. It really is a lot of fun. One of the things that makes it work is the costumes that are worn by the performers on the stage. These costumes are happy in style and feel right at home with the color palette of Bluey!

“Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” celebrates the heart and humor of the critically acclaimed animated series “Bluey” in the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., beginning March 22, 2026. Bluey and Bingo appear on stage at set times throughout the day, joining a troupe of comedic performers and musicians to bring to life the popular games, beloved music and dances with cheeky moves from the series. The day before Bluey’s Best Day Ever! kicked off, Daps Magic had the opportunity to chat with Trevor Rush, Manager, Costume Design & Development at the Disneyland Resort. During this discussion, Trevor shared the story of creating these costumes, a fun Disney film that inspired the costumes for Bluey’s Best Day Ever!, and other insights into making these costumes come to life. Takeaways of Note

There were some fun takeaways of note from this interview. These include:

Human performers’ costumes are inspired by Bluey’s friends and family (almost like a bound).
The design team was inspired by 101 Dalmatians in creating costumes where the human characters and their dogs look alike. This led to the combination of Bluey storytelling with Disney’s ability to bring “human versions” of characters that look similar.
Everything was custom.
- 33 individual custom fabrics were created.
- 10 fabrics were custom dyed.
- Each costume was created from the ground up.
Trevor gave career advice for aspiring costumers:
- Passion and storytelling are as important as technical skill (Trevor didn’t come from a costuming background).
- Stay curious and have an open mind, inspiration can come from anywhere.
