It’s hard to believe it, but 20 years ago today, Hannah Montana made its debut on the Disney Channel. Now, 20 years to the day of this debut, the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special is now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. This comes after a special star-studded premiere at the El Capitan Theatre for the special. This is the same place that the premiere was held in 2009 for Hannah Montana: The Movie.
Disney Legend Miley Cyrus was on hand for the special night. She was joined by executive producers of the special, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan, Ashley Edens, and Sam Wrench. Also on hand were original series stars Jason Earles, Moises Arias, Cody Linley, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, and Shanica Knowles. Special guests Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, Lainey Wilson, Dara Reneé, and others were also in attendance.

The stars and creators who came from across the industry enjoyed a nostalgia-filled party at The Roosevelt Hotel, which included a Maybelline touch-up station for guests to get glammed, a photo studio that featured the recreation of Hannah Montana’s legendary closet, music from DJ Zuri Marley, a Disney Channel Wand ID station, Maybelline gift bags, and more!
The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special features Miley Cyrus, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Alex Cooper. It is described as “a love letter to fans, filled with heartfelt nostalgia. Miley Cyrus revisits her most memorable moments in an exclusive, in-depth interview hosted by Alex Cooper. Viewers will also enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at Miley’s archival collection, familiar faces and surprise guests, and special musical performances by Miley Cyrus.”
This anniversary special was produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions. Ashley Edens serves as showrunner, with Miley Cyrus, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Alex Cooper, and Matt Kaplan as executive producers. Cooper hosted the special and guided Hannah Montana fans through the nostalgic and highly anticipated anniversary celebration.
