The Anaheim Resort Transportation system is being shut down by the Anaheim Transportation Network. The final day of service from the hotels around the Disneyland Resort to The Happiest Place on Earth will be on March 31st. ART buses have been seen in Anaheim shuttling guests to and from the Disneyland Resort and hotels, and also the Toy Story Parking Lot. Here is the official announcement of ART’s closure:
For nearly three decades, the Anaheim Transportation Network (ATN) has supported mobility in the Anaheim Resort—serving residents, employees, and millions of visitors.
After an extended evaluation of our current and future financial position and exhausting all options, ATN will begin an orderly wind-down of operations, with conclusion of service on March 31, 2026. This transition will be implemented in a manner to allow for coordination and transparency as services are responsibly concluded.
The ATN Board of Directors appreciates the community’s continued support of the service through the conclusion of operation.
With the closure of ART, many locals have wondered what would happen with the transportation to and from the Toy Story Parking Lot, which is also currently provided by ART. The Disneyland Resort has confirmed that there will continue to be transportation provided between the parking lot and the Disneyland Resort. The specifics about what the transportation will be were not provided.
Whatever the specifics for the transportation to and from Toy Story Parking Lot is probably not a long-term solution. The Disneyland Resort is gearing up to begin work on its Eastern Gateway Parking Structure. This will be closer to the Disneyland Resort than the Toy Story Parking Lot and will allow guests to walk across Harbor Boulevard after parking.

It is very likely that, ultimately, the Toy Story Parking Lot will be closed once the Eastern Gateway Parking Structure opens. With things beginning to move on DisneylandForward, this lot could end up being something completely different. Concept art showed it becoming a shopping, dining, and entertainment district that potentially also included hotels. The above concept art was included in the DisneylandForward proposal.
At this point, there are no official plans that have been announced for the Toy Story Parking Lot location. However, the DisneylandForward proposal shows that Disney has had different ideas for the location. With the new Eastern Gateway being so much closer to parks, it makes sense to send guests to this new parking lot, where buses aren’t needed to take people to the parks. The new location will also be more convenient for guests exiting the I-5.
While there will continue to be transportation services offered between this current parking lot and the Esplanade at the Disneyland Resort, it isn’t known what will be offered for guests staying at hotels around the resort. If a solution for this is not reached, it could lead to more congestion to and from the current parking lots as guests drive to the parks from their hotels instead of taking a bus. Daps Magic will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as they become available.
