On this day in 1931, multi-award-winning actor and Disney Legend James Earl Jones was born. Jones was best known for his commanding bass voice, which he used to great effect in his two most famous roles for Disney – Darth Vader in the ‘Star Wars’ universe and Mufasa in the ‘Lion King’ franchise. He developed a stutter as a child and pretended he couldn’t speak. A teacher helped him work through the challenge by having him recite poetry, also enabling Jones to find his calling as a performer.
