Vertical video is coming to Disney+ later this year in the United States. The addition comes after the success that Disney has seen with “Verts” on its ESPN platform already. The news came from CES, where Disney shared how its latest technology and data capabilities are powering stronger outcomes for brands across the most scaled portfolio of live sports and streaming. This includes more use of AI, insights, and automation.

“Advertisers are raising the bar for both accountability and innovation, seeking impactful ways to align with quality storytelling and data-led solutions that drive meaningful business results,” said Rita Ferro, President, Global Advertising, The Walt Disney Company. “Disney brings together world-class storytelling and the technology that connects brands with fans at scale across the world’s most premium live sports and entertainment experiences.”
One of the ways this storytelling will be brought to consumers is through the vertical video format. This comes as Disney strives to make Disney+ a must-visit destination on a daily basis for its subscribers. Already one of the more popular streaming services, Disney wants to continue to see Disney+ grow. This is an experience that Disney says will continue to evolve and expand across news and entertainment. It will also offer a more personalized and dynamic experience that reinforces Disney+ as a destination that subscribers want to visit daily.
