The Disneyland Resort continues to add more features to its app and website. One of the newest upgrades comes ahead of the arrival of the new Explore Magic Key on January 13, 2026. This new feature allows Magic Key holders to upgrade their Magic Key straight from the Disneyland App or website. This makes it easier for Magic Key holders to unlock more magic with just a couple of clicks if they want fewer blockout dates and more perks!
How to Upgrade:
There are two ways to upgrade a Magic Key: one through the Disneyland website and the other through the Disneyland App.
Upgrade with Website:
- Log in to your MyDisney account and then visit the Manage My Passes page to select and upgrade an active Magic Key pass.
- Follow on-screen prompts and complete the upgrade within minutes.
Upgrade with the Disneyland App:
- Log in to the Disneyland App.
- Tap the menu and choose My Tickets & Passes.
- Select Upgrade Magic Key on your pass.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the upgrade within minutes.
Things to Note:
- Pass type availability may vary, and upgrades to specific tiers are not guaranteed.
- Your Magic Key pass must be active to upgrade; expired or inactive passes are not eligible for digital upgrades.
- Upgrades require full payment of the price difference at the time of the transaction. Downgrades are not available.
- Upgraded passes will retain the original expiration date, and current monthly payment terms remain unchanged for installment plans.
- Features and availability are subject to change or cancellation without notice.
