The Walt Disney Company announced that it would be participating in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade. This year, Disney will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America with an entry called Disney Celebrates America. This entry is designed as a tribute to the 250th anniversary of the country. This will be a celebration of the country’s semiquincentennial in uniquely Disney ways that lean into the dreams, stories, and optimism that have touched the lives of people throughout the country and world for the last year. This comes after Disney recently celebrated its own 100th anniversary.
“The Walt Disney Company is proud to participate in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade as part of our ‘Disney Celebrates America’ initiative honoring our nation’s 250th anniversary,” said Robert A. Iger, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “Both Disney and the Tournament of Roses Parade have long celebrated the spirit of America and the people who make it extraordinary — including our service members, veterans, and their families. By featuring our own veteran cast members, we’re excited to kick off the year at this iconic event and share the Disney magic that connects generations.”
The entry will begin with a Disneyland vehicle that has Mickey Mouse and friends. It will be decorated with patriotic décor and red, white, and blue flowers. 50 U.S. military veterans who are currently Disney cast members, along with their families, will accompany Mickey and friends. This symbolizes the company’s deep appreciation for those who have served the United States of America and now help create magic for millions. The flowers that will be on the vehicle will also hold special meaning for those who serve the USA in uniform.

The flowers have all been chosen to hold significance formilitary veterans. There will be red poppies on board, which are widely recognized as a symbol of remembrance for fallen military personnel. This dates back to the First World War. Other flowers will include rosemaries, blue irises, white lilies, chrysanthemums, and red roses. This is to express love, honor, and appreciation to veterans everywhere.

Disney shared that this milestone is an opportunity to honor Walt Disney’s enduring love of country and the company’s century-long support of those who serve. This legacy began with Walt and his brother Roy O. when they both served in World War I. This is a legacy that continues on today. Throughout the celebration, Disney will be proudly highlighting U.S. military veterans who work throughout the company and continue to support military families. One of the ways this will be done is a $2.5 million donation to Blue Star Families.
