On November 10, 2025, the Disney Destiny was christened by Susan Egan. This was at the culmination of a ceremony that was led by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro and Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences.
“For more than 100 years, we have entertained our fans in new and innovative ways, connecting them to the Disney stories they love,” Josh said. “Disney Cruise Line is a powerful part of that legacy because our ships become brand ambassadors that travel the globe and bring joy to our guests in ways only Disney can. Now, the Disney Destiny makes its own extraordinary entry into our growing fleet.”
Joe added, “The Disney Cruise Line team, alongside our Disney Imagineers, have invested years of their expertise, creativity and dedication into this beautiful ship, and they have created something truly spectacular.”

The ceremony included performances that had singers take to the stage, projections that lit up the side of the ship, and drones that brought the sky to life. All of this was set to special pop-rock renditions of Disney songs from films like Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hercules, The Lion King, and Frozen, Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, Pirates of the Caribbean, and others. These songs all represented stories that could be found aboard the heroes and villains-themed ship.

The culmination of this ceremony was the arrival of the Disney Destiny’s godmother, Susan Egan. She was welcomed to the stage by Josh D’Amaro and Joe Schott. Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse accompanied her on the stage for the big moment. The christening of a ship is a tradition of blessing a ship, its crew, and all who sail on it. Susan said, “I christen thee, Disney Destiny. May God bless this ship and all who sail upon her.”
The blessing set off a culmination of A Star is Born as a projected champagne bottle did the honors, and drones continued to light up the sky. With the christening of the Disney Destiny, the Disney Cruise Line fleet continues to expand. Next year, the Disney Adventure will join the fleet and bring Disney magic to Singapore!

Susan Egan, the godmother of the Disney Destiny, has a long history with Disney. She originated the role of Belle in the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast. She also lent her voice to Megara, bringing her to life in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hercules. She also served as the singing voice for Angel in Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure. On top of all of that, she is also an executive producer of live concert entertainment worldwide for Disney Music Group.
