Journey Into Imagination with Figment is the third and current version of the attraction at the Imagination Pavilion in EPCOT. The attraction originally opened on March 3, 1983. From 1983 until 1988, the original version of the attraction, called Journey Into Imagination, was what guests experienced when visiting the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT. It had both Dreamfinder and Figment taking guests on this imaginative journey. Journey into YOUR Imagination was the next iteration of the attraction from 1999-2001. Figment was not included in this version of the attraction. This was the least popular version of the attraction. In 2002, the current version of the attraction debuted. It has been what guests have experienced ever since. It brought back Figment, but does not have Dreamfinder. In recent years, there has been plenty of discussion about what could come next for this attraction.

The Institute’s beleaguered chairman Dr. Nigel Channing (played by Eric Idle) sets out to prove how the 5 senses capture the imagination—but he’s upstaged by the mischievous Figment! 

Prepare for surprises galore as you travel through a series of vivid, whimsical sensory labs. Learn about all 5 senses as Figment turns the lab upside down and causes quite a stink in the Smell Lab.
