Travis Kelce Invests in Six Flags

Travis Kelce Joins Group in Investing in Six Flags Entertainment Corporation

Travis Kelce is known as a star player on the Kansas City Chiefs (where he has helped win three Super Bowls) and the fiancé of Taylor Swift. Now, he is also known as a part of the group that makes up one of the largest investors in Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. This week, it was announced that Kelce joined the JANA Partners and executives to invest nearly 9% in the company that operates theme parks, including Knott’s Berry Farm, Magic Mountain, Cedar Point, and many others. Along with the investment, JANA Partners said that it is engaging with the Board of Directors for Six Flags and its management to discuss how to create new opportunities to enhance shareholder value and improve the guest experience.

“I am a lifelong Six Flags fan and grew up going to these parks with my family and friends,” said Travis Kelce. “The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”

“We look forward to working with the Six Flags board and management to unlock shareholder value for the benefit of all stakeholders,” added JANA Managing Partner Scott Ostfeld. Ostfeld also disclosed the investment.

The investment comes as Six Flags continues to find its footing after a merger between Cedar Fair and Six Flags that made the current company. Valued at $8 billion, it has created a new large player in the theme park industry. It has also led to new challenges as the two companies have come together.

With Kelce joining the investment group of Six Flags, it is possible that this could lead to other new investments, awareness, changes, or even a board seat for someone who represents the ideas of this new group of investors.
