Cotino – A Storyliving by Disney Community has been welcoming new residents to its homes in Rancho Mirage since earlier this year. Earlier this month, the Artisan Club opened in the community. The club can be joined by residents of Cotino for an additional fee. When they do join, they get access to several amenities. This includes the Architect Forks restaurant, sports courts, a wellness center, studios, the ability to use the Parr House, and access to Plot Twist.
Plot Twist Beach Bar
Plot Twist is found right by the beautiful Cotino Bay. It serves craft burgers, seafood, salads, and bowls as well as island cocktails, craft beers, and frozen beverages. Disney magic and storytelling continue with some of these offerings, as can be seen by this magical mixologist’s creation:
The bar on the beach has some beautiful seating, a lovely bar, and is right near the water or a Bocce Ball court. It also has some storytelling that is wrapped into the decor found throughout the bar. Throughout the bar, there are book passages and sketches from stories that influenced Disney classics. This includes pages that are hanging from the ceiling above the bar and wall art found in seating areas. Look closely and one might find characters, stories, and icons from stories like Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland or Cinderella! There are some fun details that a Disney fan can enjoy spending some time enjoying exploring while at the bar.
The location also includes comfortable seating, both at the bar and on the beach, which is just steps away. While one might be worried about the beach being too hot under the Palm Springs area sun, fear not! Walt Disney Imagineers took great care to make sure that the sand wouldn’t be hot to the touch, even in the hot hours of the afternoon! Members of the media (including Daps Magic) double checked and were shocked at how comfortable the sand was in the middle of the afternoon.
A Tour of Plot Twist
During a media preview of Cotino – A Storyliving by Disney Community, Walt Disney Imagineer Caroline Boone gave a tour of this lovely location. Boone is the Executive Creative Director for Storyliving by Disney. In the video below, she points out some of the highlights of Plot Twist.
Learn Mixology
Along with being a lovely place to relax, Plot Twist will also be where some of the mixology courses for Artisan Club members will be held. The Disney bartenders at Cotino will demonstrate how to make special cocktails that are themed to seasons or other inspirations.
