Artisan Club Official Opening at Cotino - A Storyliving by Disney Community

Cotino – A Storyliving by Disney Community Celebrates Opening of Artisan Club

On the evening of Thursday, October 23, 2025, Cotino – A Storyliving by Disney Community celebrated the opening of the Artisan Club. The opening of the Artisan Club at Cotino marks a major milestone in the community as this oasis in the mountain desert continues to blossom. The evening’s event included special guests, residents of Cotino, and invited members of the media. The focal point for the festivities was the Parr House. A beautiful recreation of the residence of the Parr family in Incredibles 2.

The moment for the opening included a singer, remarks by Claire Bilby, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Signature Experiences Emerging Businesses, and cast members representing the community. The moment was beautiful, peaceful, and felt like it was in harmony with the beautiful, starry sky above. Daps Magic was invited to cover this milestone event. Below is the full video of the opening moment in Rancho Mirage.

“Cotino isn’t just a new community – it is a dynamic, creative oasis where residents will experience a vibrant lifestyle that is truly unique,” said Claire Bilby. “We’ve infused the beauty of Rancho Mirage with the special kind of magic Disney delivers. The Artisan Club is a premier destination for our members that will transform everyday life into extraordinary moments.”

About the Artisan Club

Run by Disney cast members, the Artisan Club offers multiple ways for members to connect with Disney’s storytelling, artistry, and unique experiences in a communal way. This is a club that is run by Disney, but also solicits feedback from members to provide offerings that they desire and connect with.

There will be multiple activities and programs for members to enjoy at the Artisan Club. This includes activities that inspire creativity, learning, and connection. Some of these activities will be at Cotino in the club’s different facilities. Others will involve going to other places like the Palm Springs Air Museum to see Walt’s Plane or Disneyland Resort to experience the Disney magic there after hearing about a parade or nighttime spectacular from a Disney show director.

Along with the recreational activities, there will also be health-focused activities to be experienced as well. There will be culinary demonstrations, wellness walks, coaching, and many other fitness experiences to help promote a healthy and purposeful lifestyle. These come in partnership with Optum. There is even a dance class that utilizes music from Encanto that was demonstrated for the media!

On top of all of the structured offerings, there is also the beautiful Cotino Bay that can be enjoyed for various activities. Members can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding on the water or simply relax on the beach. This is the first Crystal Lagoons project in California and is a beautiful centerpiece to the community.

There are a variety of amenities that are included with the membership to the club. They include:

  • Architects Fork – The Artisan Club’s signature table-service restaurant takes members on a creative journey through architecture and design, featuring artwork and ride concept designs from throughout Disney history.
  • Plot Twist – A relaxed beachside restaurant and bar offering delicious food, cocktails and stunning views. Paying homage to the beach bar’s name, members will notice book passages and sketches from historic tales that influenced classic Disney stories.
  • Wellness Center – A state-of-the-art fitness facility with indoor cardio and strength training equipment, a movement studio for dance and yoga, and an outdoor lap pool.
  • Courts at the Artisan Club – Outdoor courts for tennis and pickleball with a magical twist.
  • The Studios – A multi-purpose space where members can bring artistic inspiration to life featuring art from Disney legends Mary Blair and Marc Davis as well as commissioned pieces from local Palm Springs artists.

Parr House at Artisan Club

An icon along Cotino Bay is the Parr House. This is a part of the Artisan club and can be booked by members to host events, celebrate milestones, or even stay overnight in one of its six bedrooms. All of these offerings are for an additional fee. The house is a mid-century modern event venue that is also very much a house… a big, beautiful house that is inspired by the Parr family home in Incredibles 2. Throughout the house, there is a living room, six bedrooms, a kitchen (with another prep kitchen behind it!), a bar, a boardroom, an art studio, and a covered patio.

The Parr House is a first-of-its-kind project for Walt Disney Imagineering. It brings screen-to-stree storytelling to life. It is very easy to imagine The Incredibles showing up there after an adventure. Imagineers collaborated with Pixar artists to bring this location to life with the spirit of the film. Throughout the house, there are nods to the film and the characters. This adds to the magic of this house. Strolling around the house, one might find boxes of Sugar Bombs and Fiber O’s in the kitchen or even the family’s schedule scribbled on the calendar.

In an interesting circle of events, the building of Parr House at the Artisan Club brings the story of the Parr residence to a full circle. The Palm Springs region was used as inspiration by Pixar artists when they designed their home in the 2018 film. Now, members of the Artisan Club can see the physical realization of the inspiration in the same region where it all began.
