Tickets Now Available for Pioneering Women of Disney Animation with Archivists Jill Breznican and Doug Engalla at The Walt Disney Family Museum

The Walt Disney Family Museum is hosting a panel called Pioneering Women of Disney Animation with Archivists Jill Breznican and Doug Engalla. This panel will be taking place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in the theater at the museum. Tickets are now available for this event. The cost of tickets is $25 for members, $45 for adults, $40 for seniors and students (with ID), $35 for youth, and FREE for children ages 5 and under. Registration is still required, though. Women have been an influential part of animation history and The Walt Disney Studios’ story since the very beginning. From pioneers like M.J. Winkler and Mary Blair to contemporary visionaries like Jennifer Lee and Lorelay Bové, join us for an in-depth look at some of the amazing women from the past and present who have shaped Disney Animation as we know it with Jill Breznican and Doug Engalla of the Walt Disney Animation Research Library (ARL).

About the Speakers

Jill Breznican

Jill Breznican (Senior Archivist, Walt Disney Animation Research Library) began her career with the ARL in 2008. She works predominantly with development and production teams at Walt Disney Animation Studios to showcase artwork and resources for new shows. She helps facilitate and share biographical information on lesser-known legacy employees through “traceback” articles. She manages “The Princess Research Project” that provides historical, cultural, and artistic context about the princess characters to partners across The Walt Disney Company. She also oversees the ARL’s print and media reference collection, including rare books from The Walt Disney Studios’ original library.

Doug Engalla

Doug Engalla (Researcher, Walt Disney Animation Research Library) joined the research staff at the Animation Research Library (ARL) in 1990. He works with various business units across the company to research, locate, and recommend art imagery from the legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios for a variety of projects, including art books, displays, consumer product lines, content for home entertainment bonus features, periodicals, theme park attractions; stage, motion picture, and television production; educational programs, and museum exhibitions. He is also an occasional contributor to Disney twenty-three magazine. The ARL collection also serves as reference and inspiration for the productions of Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Television Animation.
