Everyone has their hobbies or games they play just for fun. One thing that many probably didn’t know is that Walt Disney was an avid lawn bowler. Now you can honor his passion than with a fundraising event dedicated to the sport he loved. The Carolwood Foundation, whose mission is to preserve Walt Disney’s railroad legacy, invites you to join them for a day filled with fun, music, and camaraderie — all in celebration of Walt’s legacy.
This event will take place on Saturday, October 11 at the Pasadena Lawn Bowling Club from 11am to 4pm.
As a participant, you’ll enjoy:
- Guaranteed play in three rounds*
- A chance to advance through the elimination round*
- The opportunity to be crowned the winning team at the final match
Here is the schedule for the day:
- 11:20am-11:50am = Lessons & Practice
- 12pm-12:10pm = Welcome
- 12:10pm-1:13pm = 2 Rounds of Open Play
- 1:18pm-1::47pm = Advanced Qualifier
- 1:59pm-3:12pm = Elimination Rounds (4 Rounds Total)
- 3:20pm-3:32pm = Finals
- 3:35pm-4:00pm = Thank Yous
This festive day is more than just a game — it’s a chance to relive the joy and excitement Walt once experienced, while supporting the ongoing projects of the Walt Disney Carolwood Barn and Foundation. Your participation and support are deeply appreciated.
You will also be able to immerse yourself in the sounds of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s with era-specific music throughout the event. Come dressed in period attire for a chance to win the Best Dressed Team Award! Plus you can enjoy lunch, which will be provided by local Pasadena favorite, Roma’s Deli. You can also try a Scotch Mist, Walt’s signature cocktail.
