Disney has revealed that the Bluey full-length feature will be released in theaters on August 6, 2027. The announcement was made by Disney and BBC Studios, in partnership with Ludo Studio.
The film is being directed and written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm. It’s being produced by Luda Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios. This will be a CG-animated feature that will also be produced by Amber Naismith and co-directed by Richard Jeffery (Bluey, Series 1–3). Joe Brumm is the executive producer, along with Justine Flynn for BBC Studios, and also Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson from Luda Studio. David Greenbaum, president of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios, and his team, will oversee the film for Disney.
Vocal talent for the film will see Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Mum (Chilli) and Dad (Bandit) all return. This will be the first time that the beloved blue heeler and her family will be shown on the big-screen. This will bring the EMMY and BAFTA Award-winning series to audiences like never before!
The movie is being financed by BBC Studios and it is licensing the picture with theatrical distribution through Walt Disney Studios. The film is also being supported by the Australian government through the Producer Offset and Screen Australia. On top of that there is support from the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland Post, Digital and Visual Effect Incentive.
