On August 3, 2025, thousands of supporters of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County came together to walk through the Disneyland Resort as a part of the CHOC Walk in the Park. The funds raised for this event helped support the CHOC. The event began before the sun came up. In front of Tomorrowland, the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration hot air balloon welcomed walkers as they made their way into the park. At 5:15 AM, the opening ceremony began to get the event started. The ceremony included moments with the Disneyland Ambassador, leadership from the Disneyland Resort and CHOC, the Mayor of Anaheim, and this year’s CHOC Walk Ambassador, Belle. She gave a passionate welcome and kick-off to the event before the walkers made their way off Main Street and into the parks. The full opening ceremony can be seen here:
Following the opening ceremony, the walkers made their way together into Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and then ultimately the Downtown Disney District. Along the way there were many different Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel characters. There was also a band, Disney VoluntEARS, and Cast Members lining the route and cheering walkers on!
Ultimately, the morning was all about community. The CHOC Walk in the Park shows the power of a community coming together to look after those who can’t look after themselves. In this case, the community is looking after the sick children who seek care from CHOC. This continues a vision that was started by Walt Disney over 60 years ago. His love of family and kids reached well beyond Disneyland and movies. He had a vision for a better future. Part of this vision was realized with the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Today, this vision has expanded as thousands of people come together to support CHOC and the young patients and their families who seek care there.
For many years, Daps Magic has continued to support CHOC and the CHOC Walk. This is an event that is about helping others. This is an event that helps provide hope for those who so desperately need it. Nobody wants to be a sick kid at a hospital. Nobody wants to take their sick kid to the hospital. The least we can do as a community in Orange County is help make visits to CHOC as positive as possible. That is what is being offered when people support CHOC or walk in the CHOC Walk. If you would like to help support CHOC, donations are still being taken. You can join Daps Magic’s fundraising efforts by donating at CHOCWalk.org/DapsMagic.
