On August 17, 2025, the first Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party of the year will be held at Disney California Adventure. This will be the first of many after-hours events offered at the Disneyland Resort on select nights. One of the highlights for many people, along with the candy and the opportunity to dress in costume, is the chance to see Disney characters throughout the night. In particular, the Disney villains are generally quite popular. Ahead of the first Oogie Boogie Bash, here is a look at the variety of characters that will be on hand for this ultimate Halloween party at the Disneyland Resort!
Treat Trail Characters
The Treat Trails at Oogie Boogie Bash aren’t just for sweet treats. They are also great places to find some incredible villains. While walking through the Treat Trails and collecting candy, guests can also find Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in Hollywood Land, Ernesto de la Cruz from Pixar’s Coco near the Hyperion Theater, and many others that are exclusive to this event.
This year also sees Syndrome from Pixar’s The Incredibles and Maleficent from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Sleeping Beauty bringing their terrifying presences to the evening event. Along with these spectacular villains, there are others to be found while collecting candy across Disney California Adventure:
- Agatha Harkness from Agatha All Along in Avengers Campus
- Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb in Hollywood Land
- Hades from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hercules in Hollywood Land
- Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit in Hollywood Land
- Yokai from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Big Hero 6 in San Fransokyo Square
Frightfully Fun Parade
There is no shortage of characters to be found during the Frightfully Fun Parade at the Oogie Boogie Bash. Things start off with Ichabod Crane tiptoeing through Disney California Adventure with the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow not far behind. Then things really kick into high gear with energetic music and performances of the Frightfully Fun Parade itself.
The Frightfully Fun Parade is full of favorite characters, some in costumes and some as themselves, as they dance through the night. They include:
- Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in colorful Halloween attire
- Jack Skellington, Sally, and other characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Dr. Facilier from Disney Animation’s The Princess and the Frog
- Ursula from Disney’s Animation’s The Little Mermaid
- Mother Gothel from Disney Animation’s Tangled
- Cruella de Vil from Disney Animation’s One Hundred and One Dalmatians
- Captain Hook from Disney Animation’s Peter Pan
- Many more fan favorite characters

Some of these will often have Disney PhotoPass photographers at them (they will also be found in other places as well). With unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass from the Halloween party included with admission, this can make for some great photos to post and remember a magical night with.

More Halloween
The Oogie Boogie Bash isn’t the only way to celebrate Halloween at the Disneyland Resort.
