Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Nears Billion Dollar Mark at Box Office

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch continues to see success at the box office. While the top spot this weekend was taken by Superman, the Disney live-action remake of an animated film continues to climb toward the $1 billion mark. By the end of today, Lilo & Stitch will have garnered $995.3 million. This puts the movie about $20 million higher than it was a week ago. When it makes the addition $5 million, it will become the first domestic film of 2025 to become a $1 billion movie.

Ne Zha 2, an animated film that came out of China, is the biggest movie of the year, having already surpassed $1 billion at the box office. In fact, it has already surpassed $2 billion at the box office. An English version of the film is set to be released in theaters in August. The film will be released in English in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Michelle Yeoh has been announced as part of the voice cast for the English version of the film.

The success of Lilo & Stitch has already led to Disney deciding to develop a sequel to the live-action version of the film. No details are currently available about this film other than that it is being worked on.
