On this day in 1955, future Disney Legend William “Sully” Sullivan started work as a ticket-taker for the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland after being amazed by the opening day broadcast. From there, he worked his way up to Jungle Cruise Skipper and then supervisor. Sully moved to Disney management for the 1960 Winter Olympics and then the 1964-65 World’s Fair. The rest of this 38-year career was spent developing Walt Disney World, where he became VP of the Magic Kingdom. [70 years ago in 2025]
