On this day in 2005, Disney’s Virtual Magic Kingdom opened to the public. Also known as “VMK,” the massively multiplayer online game was a chance for players to interact with the attractions and lands of a Disneyland-style park. Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, and Adventureland were the first areas available. Tomorrowland and Frontierland were added later that year, and New Orleans Square appeared in 2007. VMK was active through 2008. [20 years ago in 2025]
