On this day in 1930, the Mickey Mouse short ‘The Cactus Kid’ was released. Mickey visits a Mexican town riding Horace Horsecollar. There, he attempts to entertain Minnie Mouse, but Pegleg Pedro interferes and kidnaps her. Mickey and Horace give chase,e and Pedro gets his just rewards. ‘The Cactus Kid’ featured the debut of Marcellite Garner as the voice of Minnie Mouse. She worked in Ink and Paint and got the job because she could sing and speak Spanish. [95 years ago in 2025]
