In 2024, during Season of the Force, Fire of the Rising Moons debuted in the skies over Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This added the iconic music of Star Wars to accompany the fireworks in the sky over Batuu. Fire of the Rising Moons has continued since then, with modifications for each new fireworks show that is being presented to the rest of Disneyland. This last week, the show in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge got a significant update. This update was with the addition of projections to the fireworks and music.
Fire of the Rising Moons now features some subtle projections that bring the spires over the Millennium Falcon to life during the fireworks show at Disneyland. Currently, this show is Wondrous Journeys for the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. This adds a lot to the show as the shadows of Tie Fighters and X-Wings can be seen zooming across the sky. Other effects appear on the spires. The result is a significant enhancement to a show that was already pretty impressive.
The Daps Magic team stopped by Black Spire Outpost to check out this new version of the show over the weekend. Below is a video of Fire of the Rising Moons with projections included:
