There are so many exciting things happening throughout the Disneyland Resort. Currently, a project to update the entrance process at the gates by replacing the turnstiles with a new system of doors is nearing completion. Work continues on the future home of the Earl of Sandwich on the west end of the Downtown Disney District. Throughout the parks, work is being done on various buildings and attractions to polish them up for the upcoming Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration (this begins on May 16, 2025, and continues through the summer of 2026).
In the middle of the Downtown Disney District, it is hard to miss the work going on where Tortilla Jo’s once served guests. Currently, the building is completely gutted. The walls around the Downtown Disney District facing the sides of the building remain. However, most of what is behind those walls has been removed. This now reveals how much space there is (there seems to be a lot!) for the future Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ restaurants that will be in this location.
On Sunday, April 20, 2025, the Daps Magic team stopped by Downtown Disney District to see how the work on this transformation was progressing. Below is a look at what is being done to the location. It really is quite impressive.

A timeline for the opening of the new restaurants has not been released at this point. It is exciting to see the progress being made, though! Below is a look at what is coming to the footprint.
Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon

When it opens, Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon will be a classic steakhouse. There will be a lively center bar, and prime cuts of beef will be offered along with fresh seafood, sandwiches, and salads. There will also be an impressive selection of bourbon and inventive cocktails.
Pearl’s Roadside BBQ

Pearl’s Roadside BBQ will be a quick-service restaurant next door. It will offer flavorful dishes that include pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked heritage turkey with house-made sauces. There will also be craft beers and moonshine cocktails offered at this location.
What do you think of the progress being made at this location? Are you looking forward to trying out these two new restaurants? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
