On this day in 1950, composer, arranger, and conductor Bruce Healey was born. As a high school senior, Healey’s first job at Disney was playing drums in the Disneyland Christmas parade. He went on to work for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment for over 30 years, becoming principal music director for shows, parades, TV specials, and special events. He is the creative genius behind the music of “Fantasmic!” and many Disneyland favorites. [75 years ago in 2025]
