20 years after it first arrived in theaters, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is returning to theaters. The release celebrates the 20th anniversary of the premiere of the film. Episode III returns to theaters on April 25, 2025. It will run in select U.S. theaters and international territories for one week only.
During the one-week run, the film will be available in multiple formats. This includes for the first time, 4DX. Viewers will get to see the incredible battles over Coruscant and the epic lightsaber duel on Mustafar as they relive this third chapter of the prequel series of the Skywalker saga. The 4DX experience features high-tech motion chairs that are synced to the movie. It has over 21 effects. All of these are designed to complement and enhance the story being told on the screen.

A new poster has been revealed by StarWars.com ahead of the arrival of Episode III in theaters. Created by renowned graphic artist Matt Ferguson, it is his most complicated work to date. The poster features the foreboding mask of Darth Vader. It is enveloping Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) as he marches to execute Order 66. In the center of the poster, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Anakin’s duel is seen. The Coruscant skyline with warships over it, as the Jedi Temple burns, is on top.
“The space battle and Mustafar elements are all really complicated, with way more ships and explosions than on my other Star Wars posters,” Ferguson told StarWars.com. “It’s the movie where it all really unravels for Anakin.”
