On July 17, 2025, Disneyland will be celebrating its 70th anniversary. On July 17, 1955, Walt Disney said ‘To all who come to this happy place, welcome!’ 70 years later, Disneyland will be celebrating seven decades of magic that has only grown through the years. This celebration is only possible because of the magical dreams and imaginations of people like Walt Disney, the Sherman Brothers, and more! As part of the Disneyland 70th Celebration, there will be exhibits honoring the magic makers who laid the foundation for the magic that guests experience today.
Celebrating the Magic Makers
Over at the Opera House, Walt Disney – A Magical Life will debut alongside exhibits that look at the past, present, and future of Disneyland and the way magic happens and happened there. At the Main Street Cinema, a tribute to the Sherman Brothers will be opening on July 17, 2025. The Sherman Brothers brought many classic Disney films and attractions to life with the music they wrote. This includes the music for classic films like Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book and attractions like it’s a small world and Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.

Inside the Main Street Cinema, guests will get to see and experience the story and impact of this legendary music-writing duo. This will include the short film The Last Verse, which debuted at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last summer during the Jolly Holiday: A Musical Tribute to Richard M. Sherman panel. This film “celebrates the timeless connection and hope behind the Sherman brothers’ iconic song, It’s a Small World.” The film also debuts the third and final verse for the tune, which also debuted at D23 last summer during the Jolly Holiday panel.
The lyrics for the third verse are:
“Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.”
Along with showing The Last Verse, the third and last verse for It’s a Small World will be added to the attraction of the same name on Disneyland’s 70th birthday.
A Magical and Nostalgic Time
With the opening of this new tribute to the Sherman Brothers at the Main Street Cinema, the addition of the third verse to it’s a small world, and the opening of Walt Disney – A Magical Life and the surrounding exhibits at the Opera House on July 17th, it will be a magical day full of nostalgia for Disney fans. This will continue as Disneyland keeps moving forward and adds new magical offerings in the coming years.
