The Disneyland Railroad is getting a lot of love. In 2024, guests visiting Disneyland could see track being removed and replaced on the northeast end of the park. Today, the Disneyland Railroad closed once again with walls going up on the south side of Disneyland. Walls are now up in front of the track at Main Street Station and also Frontierland/New Orleans Square Station. Before taking a look at the work that is currently going on, here is a look at what the Disneyland Railroad looked like just hours before it closed. The following video was taken by the Daps Magic team on Sunday, January 12, 2025, as the sun went down.
On Monday morning, Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by Disneyland to check out the work that was set to begin on the Disneyland Railroad. As mentioned above, walls were up and work was beginning. Take a look at what he saw from Main Street and New Orleans Square here:
At this point, a reopening date for the Disneyland Railroad isn’t known. With the Disneyland 70th Celebration beginning in May, it would not be surprising if it is well before then. The Disneyland Railroad is an opening day attraction that has been a fan favorite for nearly seven decades. As with all trains (and attractions), it takes a lot of work, maintenance, and love to keep it looking beautiful and operating safely.
