On this day in 2008, the first guests won an overnight stay in Disneyland’s Disney Dream Suite as part of the Year of a Million Dreams. Each day in 2008, a new family was selected for the honor. The 2,600-square-foot suite is located above Pirates of the Caribbean in New Orleans Square. It was originally envisioned as an apartment where Walt and Roy Disney could entertain guests. Part of the space was used as The Disney Gallery between 1987 and 2007.
